This message is just as appropriate for the believer and the church when I received it in March 1992 as it is today, March 2009, perhaps even more so. (Lord I repent for not posting it sooner.)A message to the believer...
Prophecy, Dreams and Visions for today.
Some years ago I had a vision while driving in which the Holy Spirit showed me how the Church today grieves Him. The vision so shook me that I began to weep with violent sobs. I could not stop crying because the vision would not go away. Upon arriving home I called my pastor for prayer. At that time I could not tell him what I saw.
A week later I had a dream that woke me at 4am. I got up and got a drink of water then returned to bed. As I lay there I asked the Holy Spirit to show me the meaning of the dream and for the first time in my life I received the interpretation of a dream. I got up and began to write out the interpretation as the Holy Spirit gave it. At first I thought the vision and the dream were just for me. Now I know both are for the Church today.
FIRST THE VISION: While driving home from a personal errand the Holy Spirit spoke to me and showed me the following. From the 139th Psalm. "I have searched the Church and I know it. I know it's sitting down and it's getting up. I understand all its thoughts from afar off. I am acquainted with all its ways. There is not a word on its tongue that I do not know and I am grieved by what I hear and what they do."
"I am the Spirit of God given to the Church forever, yet they do not receive me. I am the Comforter given to the Church forever, yet they hold on to the burdens (personal sins and disputes) that should be left at the foot of the Cross and thus deny my comfort. I am the Light, Understanding and Excellent Wisdom given to the Church, yet they rely on logic in interpretation of the word and have not sought Me. I am the Spirit of Holiness sent to lead the Church in the ministry of holiness, yet they will not be led. I am the Spirit of Truth and yet the Church will not listen. I am the Helper, yet the Church denies My help."
"I am the Spirit of Adoption and yet the Church refuses My guidance and comfort. I am the giver of spiritual gifts and yet they (the Church) deny or refuse to accept the gifts. I am the Anointing, and yet they refuse to be anointed. I am all this and more. I grieve, I grieve. I am the Spirit of Grace and I have been insulted. Of how much worse punishment, do you suppose, will the Church receive for insulting the Spirit of Grace? I grieve for those (in the Church) who will be denied by the Lord Jesus. I grieve."
NOW THE DREAM: I awoke trying to escape from a disturbing dream in which there was no escape. I was vividly trapped by the truth of the Word of God and yet I did not understand the dream. I was greatly troubled and shaken. Upon returning to bed I asked the Holy Spirit to give me the interpretation of the dream and He did. At first I thought that the interpretation was just for me. I could not write out the interpretation as fast as the Holy Spirit gave it to me. Then I realized that the interpretation was not only for me, but for the entire Church. I have been released to publish this message.
Hear what the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of the Lord would say to you, the Church. "I know your every thought and deed. When you were saved you shared your salvation experience freely and gladly for a while. Then as the cares of this world flooded in you were captured, your thought turned to worldly pursuits and you no longer shared your experience with Lord Jesus. Then you heard that there might be more and some of your began to search for the Promise of the Father and the power from on high. Some of you found Me and the Lord Jesus baptized you with the Holy Spirit and fire."
Hear what the Spirit of the Lord would say about the fire. "A forest fire continues to burn because the wind blows on it and keeps it hot. Its heat continues to burn because the wind blows on it and keeps the fire hot. Its heat continues to ignite everything in its path and it burns until it consumes all in its path. I am the wind that feeds the 'fire' in the Church. I will burn until every last opportunity to present the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ has been consumed. The rain is like the thoughts of doubt and unbelief that you accept. You (the Church) are like a forest that was rained on. You smolder."
"My 'fire' never goes out. Even though you are consumed by thoughts of fear and uncertainty that are like the rain that slows the forest fire, yet I will blow upon you (the Church) one last time."
"In the Garden of Gethsemane the Lord Jesus prayed. Thoughts of being separated from His Father flooded His entire being. The thoughts of being made sin for you (the Church) flooded his entire being. He prayed again and again, finally accepting the Father's will. When Jesus walked out of the garden He had conquered the fear of death. Jesus had conquered the fear of being made sin and separated from the Father. He sought the Father's will and the fire was not dampened."
"On the cross He bore your sin, all your doubting thoughts, your fears, your insecurities, your torments, your sickness and all the cares and tribulations of this world. They were nailed to the cross with Him as He was nailed to the cross."
"I, the Spirit of God, am grieved that you call these thoughts that dampen the 'fire', your thoughts. I a grieved that you call fear, your fear. I am grieved that you call insecurity, your insecurity. I am grieved that you call uncertainty, your uncertainty. I am grieved that you have held on to damaged emotions, for these things are but the thoughts of the enemy that the Lord Jesus bore on the Cross of Calvary. They are no longer your thoughts, but you (the Church) have picked up your heavy burden instead of leaving it at the foot of the Cross."
"I am grieved that the Church has become a habitation of demons because the pastors have refused to fight under the pretense that a Believer cannot be demon oppressed or possessed. They deny the Children their bread and allow the rain to fall on My fire."
"I am grieved that you call sickness, your sickness rather than call the elders together to anoint with oil, believing that the prayer of righteous faith avails much. I am grieved that you do not speak to the sickness and command it to go in the might name of Jesus. Instead you allow the rain of doubt to quench the Word of Faith."
Hear what the Spirit of the Lord would say to the Church; "Repent of holding on to these deceiving thoughts and false doctrines. Lay them at the foot of the Cross and I will anoint you with a fresh anointing. I will blow on your smoldering fire and you will become a rekindled flame, a fire that consumes with the Sword of the Spirit. The word of God is the flaming sword. When your testimony becomes the word of God, the flaming sword will spread across the earth, and the Father's will, will be done."
Hear what the Spirit of the Lord would say about the gifts of the Spirit and the fire of your testimony. "As the rain gives life to the earth so also do the gifts of the Holy Spirit give life to the Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. They (the gifts) bear witness to the truth. They (the gifts) build up and edify the body of the Christ, the Church. Your testimony is like the fresh rain that quench the thoughts of the demons that hold people captive. As the rain gives life, so your testimony also gives life to all that hear it, including yourself. It is the fire that I have kindled in you and each time you share your testimony and minister in the gifts of the Spirit I will blow on you till you become an unquenchable flame in ministering to the Lord Jesus Christ. The fire is the unforgettable joy that comes from seeing the sick healed the blind see, the lame walk, the leper cleansed, the demons cast out and the captives set free. Once you have walked in the power of this fire and tasted the joy of ministering to the Lord Jesus, you can never be without it. Repent and come into the fire."
And now hear the warning of the Holy Spirit. "I will consume the Church with the truth of the fire of the Gospel. Do not offend the Spirit of Grace and Truth."
